A VALID PHOTO ID is required to obtain a certified copy of a birth or death record, and you must be a properly qualified applicant. If you need your birth certificate to get your ID, please have another qualified applicant apply for your birth certificate or click HERE for options of alternative documentation.
PROPERLY QUALIFIED APPLICANTS: the registrant; a member of his or her immediate family either by blood or marriage, including parent, grandparent, sibling, child, or spouse (does not include aunts/uncles or in-laws); his or her legal guardian (must show written proof); or his or her legal representative or agent (must show written proof).
Birth Certificate: $23.00
We issue long-form birth certificates for those born in Franklin County, and we are able to issue remote or short-form birth certificates for most individuals born in other counties in Texas. If you were born outside of Franklin County and need the birth certificate to obtain a passport, we recommend requesting the long-form from the county you were born in.
Death Certificate: $21.00 for the first and $4.00 for each additional if purchased at the same time.
