***UPDATE***: THE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE WILL BE CLOSING AT NOON ON FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 2023, TO BEGIN THE PROCESS OF MOVING BACK INTO THE COURTHOUSE. WE PLAN TO REOPEN AT 8:00 AM MONDAY, JUNE 5, 2023, IN OUR REGULAR LOCATION.
ATTENTION: THE FRANKLIN COUNTY COURTHOUSE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. THE PROJECTED DATE OF RE-OPENING IS MONDAY, JUNE 5, 2023. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The County Clerk's office will be temporarily relocated to 502 E Main St., Mt. Vernon, TX 75457, beginning Tuesday, May 30th. Limited services will be available. We will not be able to issue marriage licenses until we can return to the courthouse. We can be reached at 903-537-8357 or you can send email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will respond as quickly as possible.
The District Clerk is temporarily relocated to the north end of the Franklin County Law Enforcement Center at 208 TX HWY 37 S, Mt. Vernon, TX 75457 and is open as of noon on 5/25/2023. Their direct number is 903-537-8337.
The following offices will remain closed until the courthouse can reopen: County Judge/County Attorney, Treasurer, Auditor, and Justice of the Peace. They will all be checking voicemails so you can call 903-537-2342 and select the appropriate extension to leave them a message.
The closure does not affect the Tax Assessor/Collector, Auto Registration, or Elections Administrator offices.
