Welcome to the Franklin County Clerk's Website Franklin County Clerk, Betty Crane Currently - The County Clerk's Office is located on the ground floor (basement) of the courthouse - parking is available behind the courthouse for your convenience. UPDATED! IMPORTANT INFORMATION We are moving to a NEW LOCATION - Old TXDOT / DHS Building on HWY 67 East - moving the week of November 1 - 5th. The office will be CLOSED on November 4th and 5th. (actual move dates) and have minimal services a few days before and after those dates. The entrance to our office at the new location will be located on the west side of the building close to the back of the building. CALL BEFORE YOU COME 903-537-2342 x 2 during that time to check the status of the office. If we cannot be reached at that phone number, please call 903-588-0386 to check the status. You may research documents on your own computer - see below!
Accepted forms of payment include cash, *checks, cashiers check, money order, *credit / debit card. *No out-of-state personal checks accepted. All checks must have the drivers license and phone number of signer otherwise your documents may be returned unrecorded. If you have questions about us accepting your check, please contact us at 903-537-2342 x 2. Return check fee $30. Returned checks will not be redeposited. *IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT CREDIT / DEBIT CARDS when making purchases by phone or in the office - There is a 3% or $2 minimum service fee charged on all credit / debit card transactions.* Call 903-537-2342 x 2 to make a debit / credit card payment. We do not issue marriage license after 4:30 PM UNLESS prior arrangements have been made.
